How to rotate PDF pages

  1. 1Add your PDF.
  2. 2Use the rotate buttons under a page, or select several pages and use the rotate buttons in the toolbar.
  3. 3Press Save PDF to download the corrected file.

When you might need to rotate PDF pages

  • Fix scanned pages that came out upside down.
  • Turn landscape tables and charts so they read properly.
  • Straighten photos of documents taken sideways on a phone.
  • Make every page in a mixed document face the same way before printing.

Tips

  • With nothing selected, the toolbar rotate buttons turn every page.
  • Click pages to select them, or hold Shift and click to select a run of pages.
  • Rotate twice for 180° to fix upside-down pages.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDFs are opened and changed by your own web browser, on your own device. They are never sent to us or anyone else, so nobody can see them. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.

Is the rotation saved permanently?

Yes. Many PDF readers only rotate the view, which resets when you reopen the file. Here the rotation is saved into the PDF, so it opens the right way up in every app.

Can I rotate just one page?

Yes. Use the rotate buttons under that page. The other pages stay as they are.

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Rotating only changes which way the page faces. The content isn’t redrawn or compressed.

Why won’t my PDF open?

Password-protected PDFs can’t be changed here. Open the file in your PDF reader, remove the password, save a copy, then add that copy. Damaged or incomplete files can’t be opened either.

Does it work on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android?

Yes. It runs in any modern browser, including Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
